In 2011, a class action lawsuit judgement ordered certain tobacco companies to fund a 10-year smoking cessation program to benefit more than 200,000 Louisiana smokers who are members of the plaintiff class (the Scott Class). The funds from this court order were used to create the Smoking Cessation Trust (SCT).
If you’re a Louisiana resident and smoked your first cigarette before September 1, 1988, you’re part of the Scott Class and eligible for the following cessation services at no cost to you: cessation medications, individual/group cessation counseling, telephone quit-line support and/or intensive cessation support services.
Over 104,500 Louisiana residents have benefitted from the SCT since 2011. Fill out your registration form today to join them in receiving tobacco cessation services, medication and assistance so you can quit smoking cigarettes once and for all.
Smoking Cessation Trust is fully operational and Covid-19 has not impacted our ability to help you. Feel confident that your New Member application will be processed rapidly and your new materials will reach you within the normal 5-7 days from completion!
